Taking care of your candle in between burn sessions is critical in order to make it last for a long period of time. 
 
Long wicks end up burning quicker, which decreases the length in which the candle may be used. It also poses a safety hazard due to the height of the flame. Trimming your wick before the first light, and then down to 1/4" before each consecutive burn session is key to proper maintenance. Burn sessions should last anywhere between 3-4 hours maximum.
